Dear Mrs Stevens,
About the concerns you raised with us
Thank you for the information you shared with us.
I let you know previously that the first thing I would do would be to check that we could deal with the
information.
Our legislation
Our work is guided by the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law (the National Law).
Under the National Law we can only assess and manage concerns related to the health, conduct or
performance of a registered health practitioner.
The information you shared with us relates to a systems issue. As the concerns do not relate to the
health, conduct or performance of a registered health practitioner we are not able to progress them
further.
We understand that your concerns are important to you. An entity such as the Australian Commission
on Safety and Quality in Health Care may likely be able to deal with your concerns.
The information you provided is recorded on our database
The information we collect from people who raise concerns is important and we have recorded the
information you provided on our database. Recording the information helps us to identify and track
risk in practice and set and maintain standards for practice.
Privacy
This information has been disclosed to you under the National Law and in accordance with our
Privacy Policy. You are asked to treat any personal information confidentially and sensitively.
Commonwealth, State or Territory laws may restrict how you can use information.
The way Ahpra collects, uses and discloses personal information is set out in our Privacy Policy and
is consistent with our legal obligations.
Further assistance
You may wish to consider reaching out to your national and/or local health complaints entity to
discuss your concerns and whether they might be able to assist with outcomes you are seeking.
Our commitment to you
We are committed to service excellence. Our service charter sets the standard of service you can
expect when interacting with us. Our commitment to you is to be fair and respectful, transparent,
responsive, empathetic and accountable. In return, what we ask of you when engaging with us is to
please be courteous, clear, give us time to respond and be understanding if our response is limited by
our legal obligations.
