Subject: Immediate Action Required: Systemic Failure to Address Second-Generation TCDD (Agent Orange) Harm
Dear Director-General,
I am writing to formally raise urgent concerns regarding Queensland Health’s ongoing failure to acknowledge and respond to the intergenerational harm caused by TCDD (Agent Orange) exposure. My father, a Vietnam veteran, is documented in both military records and my birth certificate as a soldier. I was born in Queensland Health’s system, and this department knew—or should have known—of the medical risks I faced from birth.
Queensland Health’s silence and inaction in the face of such evidence constitutes a systemic failure, and may breach both domestic duties of care and international legal obligations, including under:
The Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC)
The Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD)
The Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants
I have created a dedicated website documenting my medical history, legal references, and the rights violations I’ve experienced. I am calling for a formal investigation into this failure and immediate steps toward recognition, accountability, and appropriate redress.
Please advise me of the steps Queensland Health will now take in response. I am also pursuing this matter with elected representatives and international bodies.
Warm Agent Orange Burns regards,
Danielle Stevens
