Advocacy for Second-Generation Harm from TCDD (Agent Orange) Exposure
Dear Grants Team,
My name is Danni, and I’m reaching out to inquire whether the Australian Communities Foundation currently offers any grants that may support grassroots advocacy or public interest initiatives focused on health justice, environmental harm, or intergenerational human rights.
I am leading an independent campaign to raise awareness and seek recognition for second-generation harm caused by exposure to dioxin (TCDD), the toxic chemical found in Agent Orange. This crusade is deeply personal—I live with 17 health conditions linked to my parent’s Vietnam War service—and I have connected with others who are also impacted. Despite mounting global evidence, children of veterans in Australia remain unacknowledged and unsupported.
My work involves compiling international research, building a public-facing website, developing educational resources, and preparing submissions to United Nations bodies, including under the CRPD and the Convention on the Rights of the Child. I’m also seeking legal pathways for accountability under domestic and international law.
I would be incredibly grateful to learn if any of your grant streams align with this kind of justice-focused, evidence-based advocacy. If so, I would welcome the opportunity to apply or provide further information.
Thank you very much for your time and for the important work you do supporting social change.
Warm Agent Orange Burns regards,
Danielle Stevens
