Good afternoon Ms Stevens,

 

We have conducted a review of our internal review policy which included a review of the legal basis for the Health Ombudsman to conduct internal review of decisions made under the Health Ombudsman Act 2013.

 

Based on that review, a decision has been made to suspend the internal review function, as the Health Ombudsman does not have the power to conduct internal reviews under the current legislative provisions. This means that your request for internal review is not able to be considered and the OHO’s decision outlined to you to take no further action on your complaint remains.

 

Options

If you remain dissatisfied with the decision made on your complaint, you may make a complaint to the Office of the Queensland Ombudsman. You may wish to visit their website at www.ombudsman.qld.gov.au to see how they may be able to assist you. The contact details for the Office of the Queensland Ombudsman are as follows:
