This is what Australia left out of its 1985 Agent Orange Royal Commission — despite it being on the UN record for more than 15 years

On 16 December 1969, the UN General Assembly adopted Resolution 2603 A (XXIV) by 80 votes to 3, with 36 abstentions. The UN’s official record confirms the date, vote and 1836th plenary meeting.
It recognized that the Geneva Protocol embodied generally recognized rules of international law prohibiting biological and chemical methods of warfare, and declared contrary to those rules the use in international armed conflict of chemical agents employed because of their direct toxic effects on “man, animals or plants.”
Evatt wrote in 1985:
“At the United Nations the ‘ecological’ warfare debate continued.”
