Request for Parliamentary Support – AP I Article 77 Child Harmed by Toxic Remnants of War

Updated: Dec 22, 2025

11/12/2025 uploaded into Mr Wilkies website

Dear Mr Wilkie,

My name is Danielle Stevens, and I am seeking your assistance regarding a matter involving war-toxin harm, Geneva Convention obligations, and the rights of children under Additional Protocol I, Article 77.

I am the child of a Vietnam veteran who served in one of the heaviest TCDD/Agent Orange exposure zones. I was born with 11 congenital anomalies, have 17 lifelong SOP-linked conditions, and possess extensive medical imaging confirming in-utero toxic exposure. My case is fully documented, publicly available, and already lodged with the International Criminal Court, the ICRC, and multiple UN bodies.

Despite this, Australia has never acknowledged AP I protections for children of toxic war remnants, nor has it provided investigation, screening, or redress. This constitutes a 50-year breach of humanitarian law.

I am requesting:

  1. Your parliamentary voice to ensure this humanitarian issue is finally addressed.

  2. Recognition of AP I Article 77 obligations toward children injured by toxic remnants of war.

  3. Oversight to ensure the Australian Government does not continue suppressing or ignoring this protected class.

You have my full permission to use my name, case, documents, website, and Defence Thread in Parliament, under privilege or otherwise. I represent not just myself but millions of second-generation children globally who were exposed to TCDD.

My evidence and full case materials are here:

Thank you for considering this matter of national responsibility and humanitarian law.

Warm Agent Orange burns regards,

Danielle (“Danni”) Stevens

Dear Danielle

Thank you for getting in touch and sorry for my delayed reply. I’ve discussed with Andrew who was very interested as his brother is a Vietnam Veteran and he is well aware of the consequences on his niece and nephew.

Regrettably though, Andrew asked me to pass on that he won’t be able to assist directly as he doesn’t have the capacity to take on another national issue at this time.

All the best

Liam

Thanks Liam, and please thank Andrew for considering it. I completely understand capacity issues. I am continuing the work and will send a short update once the international components progress. If support becomes possible later, even a small nudge would help.
