Subject: Urgent Escalation: Australian Government Legal System – Complicity in Crimes Against Humanity
23/07/2025
Dear International Bar Association,
This is a formal request for international oversight and review of the entire Australian Government Legal System, which I believe is currently complicit in grave breaches of international law, legal ethics, and human rights obligations.
I am the complainant in an active submission before the International Criminal Court (filed under Article 15 of the Rome Statute on 1 July 2025), documenting state-sanctioned crimes against humanity and transnational organised crime involving second-generation harm from dioxin (TCDD/Agent Orange) exposure.
The actions and omissions of Australian Government legal departments — including the Attorney-General’s Department, Office of International Law, Treasury, and the Department of Veterans’ Affairs — demonstrate systemic legal obstruction, denial of redress, and misuse of the legal system to suppress, delay, and discredit victims.
This pattern is not isolated to my case. It mirrors documented abuses from other Australian Royal Commissions, including:
Robodebt: where legal advice was ignored, citizens were driven to suicide, and officials avoided accountability;
The Stolen Generations: where Indigenous families were pathologised and denied legal justice;
Veterans’ Affairs cases: where legal and psychiatric frameworks are used to deny toxic exposure claims.

In each instance, state lawyers and government legal advisors acted (or failed to act) in ways that appear to breach:
Articles 7 and 70 of the Rome Statute (crimes against humanity and obstruction),
The UN Basic Principles on the Role of Lawyers,
The OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises (in cases of state-corporate collusion),
And international legal ethics standards governing state accountability and the rule of law.
My full submission is now before the ICC and supported by a growing archive of documentary evidence, international warnings, ignored legal notices, and correspondence. For reference:
Request:
I formally request that the International Bar Association open an inquiry or review into the conduct of government lawyers and legal departments in Australia. The systemic failure to act in good faith, uphold human rights, or comply with treaty obligations has resulted in irreparable harm — not just to me, but to entire populations left without legal recourse.
The failure of domestic legal ethics bodies to act has left international escalation as the only remaining avenue.
This complaint is submitted in good faith and as part of an active ICC process. Please confirm receipt and advise whether the IBA will review this matter further.
Warm Agent Orange Burns regards,
Danielle Stevens

A formal complaint has been lodged with the International Criminal Court for Crimes against Humanity. The final submission was the 1st of July 2025.
Australia ratified International treaties but failed to implement them into domestic laws.
